about :

Even if mindfulness and longing can seem like two contradictory states, my personal experience taught me that one is never far from the other. Mindfullness, a calm state of mind, the feeling of being anchored in the here and now, is generally attained after much efforts. Longing, the desire to be somewhere else, to do something else, to be somebody else, is always lurking. This opposition shaped this work that balances between these two states. The music, at the beginning tumultuous, becomes gradually transparent and the ethereal. The repetition, constantly enriched by delicate variations, ask for introspection from the performers and the listeners. The softness of the sounds, the fragility of the timbres, and the long duration creates a listening experience akin to meditation, where one’s attention is sometimes intensely focused on the music, and sometimes drifting in a stream of thoughts. This work is dedicated to Mark McGregor, who, in addition to being a wonderful musician, is a close friend and a precious ally to whom I owe so much.
